About BiOle

A lightweight, versatile polypropylene yarn solution that places antimicrobial functionality within the fibre.

Turktex expertise

Protection that starts in the polymer, not on the surface.

BiOle is an olefin-based synthetic yarn family with antibacterial and antifungal properties. Antimicrobial agents are introduced into the polymer during melt spinning.

This method locks the functionality into the fibre structure. Because it is not merely a surface treatment, the feature is designed to withstand repeated washing and abrasion.

Microscopic representation of antimicrobial activity

Controlled-release mechanism

Antimicrobial functionality is designed to support performance throughout the textile product’s life.

How is it made?

Function integrated into the fibre in three stages.

Polymer preparation

Antimicrobial agents are matched with the polypropylene raw material under controlled conditions.

Melt spinning

The functional additive is incorporated into the polymer as the fibre is formed.

Yarn construction

The fibre is transformed into CF, air-textured, textured, fancy or chenille articles.

Material design

Balancing touch, tenacity and function.

In the optional hollow-yarn approach, the inner section can support strength and functional properties while the outer section provides a traditional appearance, handle and comfort. A round cross-section can also be evaluated for the intended application.
